Tomato Tomato

Dan brought home some little tomato plants from work, and we've had them in some tupperware in the apartment for the last week or so. Today we picked up some pots and soil, and planted them each into their own home. We need to pick up the cages still, but they seem quite happy out on the balcony in their new homes : )

T minus 2 Weeks

Well I really shouldn't be surprised that the time is slipping away ... I will be moved to NS in about 2 weeks. My belongings are set to be picked up by the movers May 30/31, and then I will drop my car off to be shipped in the days to follow, and then I will hop on a plane and be gone. Crazy !!

A week ago I finally bought moving boxes and started to pack a little ... a very little. I currently have 6.5 boxes packed ... and roughly a million more to go. This weekend is going to be the kick-my-self-into-PACKING-gear weekend and power through as much as I can.

When talking about the days I have left here in ON, I can literally run though all the who-I-am-seeing-when-and-where as well as other miscellaneous plans I have. I have my entire calendar in my head - which is both good & bad ... I know I wont forget any of these plans, BUT I am realizing that I am quickly running out of time.

I have taken photos lately, mostly funny packing related photos. But I haven't found the time to sit down, plug the camera into the computer, download photos, edit photos, and upload photos. It's just too much right now.

So as much as it pains me to say, I will basically be M.I.A. for the next couple of weeks.
I might surprise you with a random photo here or there ... but rest assured I will be back at it in full swing once I am moved and a little settled in NS.

I took a little time, went through all the odds & ends that I have collected over time, and chose some of my favourites and made this collage. Everything in it is Ontario based, so it will be a great memory keeper for when I move to Nova Scotia next month : )

Photo Booth

I had a wonderful visit with Lu and the boys yesterday. We had some fun with Photo Booth while I was there, and while it was silly with the boys, it was down right ridiculous with Lu !! I laughed so hard I cried - that's always a good sign !! Please enjoy the above photo of, and take note of Lu's bulging bicep ; )

Berry Takes Over

I left the room for a few moments this afternoon, and when I came back I found this !!

My strawberry had started using my MacBook to search for her relatives, and even had my iPhone ready to call them up : )

I think Dan may have played a role in this scenario, but I like to think she did it all by herself ... LOL

Easter Eggs

Delicious. That's really the only word you can use to describe these home made chocolate-fondant easter eggs. They are a long standing tradition in my family, and I am proud to have been helping to make them for the past few years. I am learning all the tricks & tips from my Gramma and Aunt Brenda, so that one day I can make them all by myself !!

Bitter Sweet

It seems there are a few things in my life that are bitter sweet lately ...


First of all - incase you haven't heard ... I am moving to Nova Scotia in early June !!
I am over the moon excited, but also a little sad b/c the majority of my family and friends are here in Ontario. I will miss everyone dearly, but am ready for this new adventure and exciting new chapter of my life !!


Second ... my HP LiveStrong laptop bit the bullet this week.
It was up and running on Sunday, and Monday it was toast. I am sad to see it go, it has been through so much with me, travelled so many places, and been (fairly) reliable throughout the years. But it's gone now ... and I am getting a MacBook !!! 
My Mom & Laurie are purchasing it for me, and I could not be more grateful & excited & thankful & excited ... did I mention I am excited ?? LOL 
My MacBook was ordered from Apple today, which means I should have it late next week ... in the mean time, Dan is kind enough to allow me access to his precious iMac ... so I can still be online a bit, and get used to the Macintosh ways.


Obviously this means, no photo posts for a while ... which makes me sad b/c I have been taking a lot of photos. I will save them all up though, and wildly attack you with fabulous photos and posts as soon as I get my new computer !! 


In the mean time ... I have put COMMENTING back up for all my posts ... feel free to go through and comment on all my previous posts, and let me know if there is anything you want to challenge me to find, photograph, and share !!

Last night I set up my Pixar Monopoly for Lu, Dan, & I.

We had a blast, laughed a ton, and came no where near finishing the game.

It was fantastic : )

History Buff

Confession - not only did I not take this photo, I have no idea who did.

Because it's a photo of the back stair case in my Mom & Laurie's NEW HOUSE !!!

The stairs were painted in 1945, and are each dated with the month they were painted in.

I cannot wait to see them in person : )

Feeling Blue

I made blueberry muffins for the first time this weekend.

They are super yummy. I will definitely have to add this recipe into my rotation.

Rainy Day

Yesterday was a typically Rainy Day. Played Board Games. Watched TV.

Lots of lazing around on the couch. It was lovely !!

Back to reality today.

Fresh Fruit

I love fruit. I. Love. Fruit.

I am excited for fresh fruit to start being LOCAL again !!

Home Baking

Yesterday I was fairly productive. That always makes me smile.

I baked lots of yummy things, made a big pot of chili for Dan, among other things.

And in the end, the kitchen was clean as a whistle !! That always makes me smile too.

Sugar Rush

Breakfast this morning was cinny-sugar toast - so yummy !!

A treat I have been enjoying for as long as I remember : )

The sugar rush kicked started my fairly busy day of errands & groceries, followed up with baking & cooking & cleaning & laundry !! I am happy to being crashing onto the couch now.

Fancy Hair

Last week I got my hair cut - it was long over due. I had about 4 inches cut off the length, and got my bangs trimmed to they are "wearable" again. It feels so much better !!

I always love the post haircut feeling ... which makes me wonder why I always wait so long between cuts ??? Hmmm ...

Odds & Ends

The past few days have been all about the odds & ends - doing random tasks, finishing up forgotten about projects, trying to stay organized & keep the apartment tidy.

I only have a few tasks left now ... so close, yet so far from done !!

Patch Job

Our couch is D's from roughly forever ago. It is beyond faded, and since it's been very well loved, the material is starting to rip in places. Given that once upon a time it was a denim blue colour, I thought it might work to patch it with various denim scraps. In the process of patching one large rip today, I made a secondary rip - oops - hense the over lapping patches.

I think that one day, the entire couch cushion covers may be a big patch job.

It'll look even more loved then !!
