I am off to give my blood to the lab for testing this morning - which is probably one of my least favourite things to do. Wish me luck.

Quite The Pair

 

Last Saturday we finally got out to snowshoe. It was beyond cold outside, but it was so fun to be out there. We went to a park near by, and explored the path & trails and enjoyed watching the wildlife and checking out the views.

Chili

I made some chili for Dan today, divided it up and froze it. The apartment smells so yummy.

Waiting game

I am playing the waiting game. I am not a good waiter. I don't like this.

I want to know now. Please!

Lets Go Shoeing

Dan & I are hoping to go snow shoeing later today or tomorrow. Last year we didn't make it out once. Or snow shoes are crying for attention. Plus I want to take more winter photos - so it seems like a good combo !!

Little Steps

Today has been a day full of little steps, like all the little scales on this tree trunk.

The first, and probably hardest step, was to get out of bed this morning. With no where to go and not much on the to-do list, it was no easy task.

Roughly six hours after getting out of bed, I have only just showered now ... oh boy.

LuLu !!

Today Luanne made me smile. And laugh. And almost pee my pants.

Thanks for a great visit Lu ! I am so glad my dinner was good ; ) SOCKS

Pack Rat Perks

I am a pack rat. There is no way around it. I am aware of this, and try not to keep everything ... but I often find myself coming across things and wondering why in the world I hung on to it. Luckily, I still find lots of "hidden gems" in the mix ... like this little quote:

Grammer doesn't matter ... No rough drafts ...

It's love. Just write.

I was so excited to see that quote. I had forgotten all about it, but as soon as I started reading it, my heart smiled and a slew of memories came rushing back. And that is why I truly believe that being a pack rat has it's perks.

Main Loop

Here's to hoping I find my way back onto the "main loop" today !!

Monday Morning

Apparently it is quite cold outside. I am not looking forward to going out there.

The cold makes Monday mornings that much harder.

I would much rather be curled up in bed for the day - all warm & cozy !!

Just Like Old Times

Friday night was wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. There really is no other way to describe it.

I had dinner & an awesome visit with some people I have known for my entire life, and who are like extended family to me. In addition to my Mom (in the centre above) and my brother, there were two couples who have been friends of my parents forever. As well, one couples children were there as well - kids who I love like siblings !!

It was a long time coming - that's for sure - but it was just like old times.

And I know my Dad was there in spirit, loving every minute of it.

Mom's Here !!

I know I missed yesterday, but I am a little pre-occupied because my Mom is here visiting for a few days, and I am spending as much time as I can with her and my friends & family.

Santa's Helper

My car had lots of holiday spirit this past holiday, it even dressed up as Rudolph !! Thanks to Laurie's sweet find during my trip to Dartmouth in early December, I had people laughing & smiling & cheering all throughout the holiday season !!

I have a jam-packed day - having already worked-out, showered, and am having breakfast.

Then to the doctor, work, and the airport to pick up my brother.

Home to fall down after that, I'm sure.

Today I am going shopping for a wall calendar. I am picky, so this won't be easy.

Rolling On

These wheels have clearly stopped rolling. The are resting peacefully beside a barn, in a beautiful bed of fall leaves. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is rolling on, moving forward, constantly. I feel a little like these wheels lately, kind of stuck, but also happy to be resting. Tomorrow brings a New Year, and hopefully it will bring all the best for all of you !!

I could have stayed in bed all day today. Unfortunately, my head is hurting - on the verge of turning into a migraine. I hope it doesn't, as I would really like to tackle my hit list of tasks and odd-jobs today. Here's hoping.

O Christmas Tree

The Christmas Tree at my Gramma & Grampa's has been exactly the same my entire life. Same tree. Same lights. Same garland. Same decorations.

The only change is that it gets two new decorations each year, as it is tradition that we each get a new ornament at the dinner table each year.

I love this tree, and all the memories it holds.

Finally Fiddling

I have finally started to play with and fiddle around in Photoshop.

This is exciting ... and I find I can make my photos look even more amazing !!

100th Post !!

I just enjoyed the most lovely bath, complete with bubbles, candles, and nice music.

I enjoyed it so much so that I have posted not one but two photos: one colour, one black & white.

Domestic Goddess

Today I am being somewhat of a domestic goddess. I have hemmed some pants for my friend, repaired a sleeping bag, sewed buttons back on a coat. I have cleaned & tidied the apartment, and am now getting ready to start baking cookies - yummmm !!

Open House

This past Saturday I helped my cousin with the Mavrags Open House and took a slew of photos. Above is one of my cousin's friends, who is stunning. I caught this candid photo of her, and it is one of my favourite photos from the day.

Lunch with the Girls

Yesterday I had lunch with the girls. It was our holiday get together, and we managed to plan 3 additional dates over the next couple months - and I have to say, I am really excited for each one of them !!

Stone Walled

Last Saturday I was in Nova Scotia. We went to the farmers markets in Halifax, and as we walked from one to the other, I saw this beautiful old stone wall. I took a ton of photos of it, and this is one of my favourites. What do you think ?

Flower Power

This is my lightening catcher. Dan tends to pack him into my suitcase or bag whenever I travel. He surprised me by showing up in my luggage this past weekend when I went to Nova Scotia. Needless to say he did quite a lot of site seeing !! Above he is laying in a bed of beautiful flower pins at the Sea Port Market on Saturday morning - fabulous market, lots of great vendors !!

Me & Mom !

Above is a shot of Me & Mom while I was in Nova Scotia this past weekend. (I swear I am not really that much taller than her, but it sure appears that way here.) We went down to the Darthmouth Christmas Tree Lighting ... but the ceremony was long, so we wandered off to have drinks and didn't quite make it back to see the tree lighting - oops ; )

Home Again

I am home again. Back from my quick trip out east to visit Mom & Laurie !!

Had a great visit, got lots of rest, had lots of drinks, shared many laughs, and a few tears too.

I have been a slacker lately. I am sorry.
Excuse for yesterday - woke up with migraine, went to work, went to Lu's for a sleep over.
Excuse for today - am at work now, going home to work on Mavrags stuff, and pack.

P.S. I was very sad to find out that my kitchen aid mixer was not ready for pick up yesterday (like sears said it would be), and instead it would be mid-week before it arrived in store. I actually nearly cried when she told me. Oh well, I baked anyway !!

Red Red Red

I am very drawn to plants that turn red red red in the autumn. I love all the colours, but to me the red stands out so much, and I simply adore it !! And, in accordance, I take many red fall photos.

In Recovery
