Happy Birthday Mom !!!

Happy Birthday Mom !!

Above is a photo of my Mom, only 5 days old, with my Gramma : )

Below is a photo of my Mom, at 3 months, with my Grampa.

Hope you have a wonderful day Mom !! Love you

100th Post !!

I just enjoyed the most lovely bath, complete with bubbles, candles, and nice music.

I enjoyed it so much so that I have posted not one but two photos: one colour, one black & white.

Which do you like better - comment & let me know : )

Domestic Goddess

Today I am being somewhat of a domestic goddess. I have hemmed some pants for my friend, repaired a sleeping bag, sewed buttons back on a coat. I have cleaned & tidied the apartment, and am now getting ready to start baking cookies - yummmm !!

Open House

This past Saturday I helped my cousin with the Mavrags Open House and took a slew of photos. Above is one of my cousin's friends, who is stunning. I caught this candid photo of her, and it is one of my favourite photos from the day.

Lunch with the Girls

Yesterday I had lunch with the girls. It was our holiday get together, and we managed to plan 3 additional dates over the next couple months - and I have to say, I am really excited for each one of them !!

Stone Walled

Last Saturday I was in Nova Scotia. We went to the farmers markets in Halifax, and as we walked from one to the other, I saw this beautiful old stone wall. I took a ton of photos of it, and this is one of my favourites. What do you think ?

Flower Power

This is my lightening catcher. Dan tends to pack him into my suitcase or bag whenever I travel. He surprised me by showing up in my luggage this past weekend when I went to Nova Scotia. Needless to say he did quite a lot of site seeing !! Above he is laying in a bed of beautiful flower pins at the Sea Port Market on Saturday morning - fabulous market, lots of great vendors !!

Cup of Tea

A wall of tea. Makes me want to curl up with a blanket and book for the day !!

Me & Mom !

Above is a shot of Me & Mom while I was in Nova Scotia this past weekend. (I swear I am not really that much taller than her, but it sure appears that way here.) We went down to the Darthmouth Christmas Tree Lighting ... but the ceremony was long, so we wandered off to have drinks and didn't quite make it back to see the tree lighting - oops ; )

Home Again

I am home again. Back from my quick trip out east to visit Mom & Laurie !!

Had a great visit, got lots of rest, had lots of drinks, shared many laughs, and a few tears too.

Thanks for a great weekend !! xo

Slacker.

I have been a slacker lately. I am sorry.
Excuse for yesterday - woke up with migraine, went to work, went to Lu's for a sleep over.
Excuse for today - am at work now, going home to work on Mavrags stuff, and pack.

Excuse for tomorrow - flying to Nova Scotia to visit Mom !!!

I will try to post while I am out there, but it may not happen ... but I promise to make up for it when I come home next week. Have a great few days !!! xo

Cards Cards Cards

They may not have any writting on them yet, but Christmas cards are well under way !!!

From Batter to Bundt

I was an extremely lazy bum yesterday. Sad, but true. I have many of these days lately. The "highlight" of my day, is documented below, in numerous photos for you to enjoy. xo

P.S. I was very sad to find out that my kitchen aid mixer was not ready for pick up yesterday (like sears said it would be), and instead it would be mid-week before it arrived in store. I actually nearly cried when she told me. Oh well, I baked anyway !!

Red Red Red

I am very drawn to plants that turn red red red in the autumn. I love all the colours, but to me the red stands out so much, and I simply adore it !! And, in accordance, I take many red fall photos.

Long List

Thursdays at home. With a long to do list. Reminds me of preparing for my gramma & grampa's 50th anniversary two summers ago. And that's why I am sharing TWO photos from that evening today. Above with my mom & brother, using be our quirky selves. Below with the guests of honor, toward the end of the evening, and what a wonderful evening it was !!

Taste the Rainbow

Skittles !! I love them. I think I will buy some today to snack on over the next few days : )

Happy middle of the week-day !!

In Recovery

This photo was taken with my phone, back in the Spring. I shared it today because it illustrates how I spent all of yesterday - on the couch with a blanket. I was feeling under-the-weather, and knew I needed to rest up so I would feel better and be good to go for the rest of the week.

And here we go ...

Patience

Another shot from last Saturday's walk around Burlington.

Dan must have the patience of a saint, especially when I have my camera with me !!

Shhh ... Quiet.

I am currently editting a paper for my friend Ashlee ... and for whatever reason, I felt that this photo seemed to suit that task. Enjoy your Saturdays.

Déjà vu

This photo is quite similar, yet totally different from one posted a few weeks ago. This one was taken a year prior to the other posted photo (aka Christmas 2008 vs. 2009), and yet it still illustrates the same craziness that runs in my family : )

Yesterday was my brother's 25th birthday. He's getting old too - just like me !!

Happy One Day After Your Birthday Jesse !!!

Hope you had a fabulous day ... Love you always, xo's

Genetic vs Crazy

I was at the gym for the first time in ages last night. And I thought it'd be a great idea to do walking-lunges ... and today, I hurt !! I blame this on 100% on my Mom, seen above at a powerlifting meet a few years back.

Even if our shared genetics make me do crazy workouts, don't worry ... I Love You Mom !!

Blue Skies

We are in the midst of some rainy days ... and while they can be nice, I do much prefer sunny days. This shot was taken on the weekend, post pea-soup-fog, near the lake. It makes me smile : )

Fellows

Do these fellows look alike to you ??? Maybe a little like father & son ...

A Lil Cocoa

As part of our long walk on Saturday, we stopped for "tea" which was actually hot chocolate for most of us. This was one perfectly topped marble hot chocolate : ) Delicious !!

Twice As Nice

I had a thing for "fences" yesterday on my walk around town ... I was out for about three and a half hours with Dan and his folks. We had a great walk, browsed some shops, had tea, and thoroughly enjoyed the weather & the day. I took loads of photos, and get to go do a little more of the same today but with makeup instead. Happy Sunday !!

Home Made : )

Above are my new home made roses !! Dan's mom made them and shared these two with me - they are beautiful !! I am going to hotglue pins onto them so I can wear them on my jackets & scarves : )

More of Me !

Apparently this week I am drawn toward photos of me, taken mainly by Dan. Which makes me laugh, but also realize I need to get out and take some photos !! I am hoping to go to St. Jacob's tomorrow, wander around the market and take ooooodles of photos. In the mean time, I am having coffee with one of my very best friends today, and then dinner with some of the creepers in my life ; )

Back to Bangs

A quick self portrait to show off the new do.

It all started last fall/winter when I decided to grow my hair long. And with that I wanted something different, hence the bangs. But then I grew them out through the spring and summer because they are just too bothersome during the warmer weather. But now, with the return of the cooler weather, bangs are back !!

Candid

Dan snapped this photo of me almost 2 years ago. I had no idea he was even taking my photo, thought he was taking photos of the inside of the quincey. But I adore it, and wanted to share it today : )

Birthday Blooms

This is my Christmas Catcus. She's kind of different, unique, and quirky. She doesn't grow the same as most do, she doesn't bloom at Christmas (instead she blooms for my birthday at the end of February), she prefers more water than the average catcus. But I love her all the same, because she's mine !!

Baking Today

Mmmmm cake ! I want to bake today. I am not sure what ... maybe cookies, or muffins. I just want something sweet. And for the aptartment to smell yummy !! ... Which may stem from the fact that Dan is cooking with onions right now, and to me it does not smell yummy : ( lol

Running Numbers

Last January, the day after I sliced off a piece of my finger at work, I spent the day running numbers for my Mom at her powerlifting meet in St. Kitts. It was a busy, busy, busy but also very fun day !! Please take note of the giant white gauze bandage on my right index finger - it made writing pretty challenging & interesting ; )

Long Way Around

More than a few years ago now, Holly and I went on a little retreat to relax and explore at camp. We hit one major bump in the road, but just took the long way around instead. This photo is one of surprisingly few from that weekend - since we are both photo-obsessed much of the time - and it always makes me laugh when I see it. Miss you Hols ! xoxo

Sums up

This photo sums up where I would like to spend most of my days - outsite, taking photos. It's true.

Dan took this photo during our Killareny camping trip in September. I want to go back, but maybe minus the bears running around the campgrounds. Maybe.

Background

This photo is from a few weeks ago, taken at Bronte Creek. I love it a lot, and it is currently my desktop background on my laptop. Trust me, it takes a special kind of photo to make it onto my desktop !!

Birks

As it gets chillier and chillier, I am going to have to switch from my array of birks to warmer footware. This makes me sad. I wish the Birkenstock made a line of winter boots so I could just wear my Birks all year round : ) I am a dreamer, obviously !

Brrr, It's Cold !

Ok, I have tried uploading this file a few times, and it always turns my photo sideways and I do not know what. I give up.

I realize that it's far from THIS COLD, but the temperature has dropped lately and it is hitting below zero which mean snow could be just around the corner - which is both exciting and scary. I love winter for snowshoeing and playing and building forts and pretty walks, but I dislike winter driving quite a bit. But you have to take the good with the bad, right ?

My Rememberance Day

Today marks 10 years since my Dad died. I miss him so very much it could break my heart.

Below you will find a five photos that always make me smile & laugh.

Love you Dad, always & forever.

My first birthday : )

A running joke, giving "duck underwear" for birthdays and/or Christmas.

Nap time with baby me.

Happy Hallowe'en

Yesterday I helped Luanne (and her boys) carve four very unique pumpkins.

I actually cannot remember the last time I carved pumpkins, and boy did we have fun !!

They are not the fanciest pumpkins by any means, but they're not half bad. My "dog" may look like a bunny, and sure one jack-o-lantern may have yarn hair and a stash - but we are pretty happy with them !!! Thanks for the fun time Lu !! xo

Lazy Day

Pretty pretty pretty !!! Dan took this photos in Vancouver two summers ago when he was there. Took it because he thought I would like it .... and I sure do : )

So not only did I use a photo someone else took, I am posting hours later than normal b/c I slept in today for the first time in ages !! I am going to be a lazy bum for a few hours, and then go do fun things today !! Yay day off !!

Two Peas ...

Jesse and I are like two peas in a pod ... sometimes. Most of the time though we are two peas from pods in different fields from each other, LOL !! But we're siblings, and therefore scarily similar at times ... as is proven in the photo above. Love you Jes !! xo
