Thursdays at home. With a long to do list. Reminds me of preparing for my gramma & grampa's 50th anniversary two summers ago. And that's why I am sharing TWO photos from that evening today. In Recovery

This photo was taken with my phone, back in the Spring. I shared it today because it illustrates how I spent all of yesterday - on the couch with a blanket. I was feeling under-the-weather, and knew I needed to rest up so I would feel better and be good to go for the rest of the week.

Déjà vu

This photo is quite similar, yet totally different from one posted a few weeks ago. This one was taken a year prior to the other posted photo (aka Christmas 2008 vs. 2009), and yet it still illustrates the same craziness that runs in my family : )

Genetic vs Crazy

I was at the gym for the first time in ages last night. And I thought it'd be a great idea to do walking-lunges ... and today, I hurt !! I blame this on 100% on my Mom, seen above at a powerlifting meet a few years back.

Even if our shared genetics make me do crazy workouts, don't worry ... I Love You Mom !!

Blue Skies

We are in the midst of some rainy days ... and while they can be nice, I do much prefer sunny days. This shot was taken on the weekend, post pea-soup-fog, near the lake. It makes me smile : )

A Lil Cocoa

As part of our long walk on Saturday, we stopped for "tea" which was actually hot chocolate for most of us. This was one perfectly topped marble hot chocolate : ) Delicious !!

Twice As Nice

 I had a thing for "fences" yesterday on my walk around town ... I was out for about three and a half hours with Dan and his folks. We had a great walk, browsed some shops, had tea, and thoroughly enjoyed the weather & the day. I took loads of photos, and get to go do a little more of the same today but with makeup instead. Happy Sunday !!

Home Made : )

Above are my new home made roses !! Dan's mom made them and shared these two with me - they are beautiful !! I am going to hotglue pins onto them so I can wear them on my jackets & scarves : )

More of Me !

Apparently this week I am drawn toward photos of me, taken mainly by Dan. Which makes me laugh, but also realize I need to get out and take some photos !! I am hoping to go to St. Jacob's tomorrow, wander around the market and take ooooodles of photos. In the mean time, I am having coffee with one of my very best friends today, and then dinner with some of the creepers in my life ; )

Back to Bangs

A quick self portrait to show off the new do.

It all started last fall/winter when I decided to grow my hair long. And with that I wanted something different, hence the bangs. But then I grew them out through the spring and summer because they are just too bothersome during the warmer weather. But now, with the return of the cooler weather, bangs are back !!

Birthday Blooms

This is my Christmas Catcus. She's kind of different, unique, and quirky. She doesn't grow the same as most do, she doesn't bloom at Christmas (instead she blooms for my birthday at the end of February), she prefers more water than the average catcus. But I love her all the same, because she's mine !!

Baking Today

Mmmmm cake ! I want to bake today. I am not sure what ... maybe cookies, or muffins. I just want something sweet. And for the aptartment to smell yummy !! ... Which may stem from the fact that Dan is cooking with onions right now, and to me it does not smell yummy : ( lol

Running Numbers

Last January, the day after I sliced off a piece of my finger at work, I spent the day running numbers for my Mom at her powerlifting meet in St. Kitts. It was a busy, busy, busy but also very fun day !! Please take note of the giant white gauze bandage on my right index finger - it made writing pretty challenging & interesting ; )

Long Way Around

More than a few years ago now, Holly and I went on a little retreat to relax and explore at camp. We hit one major bump in the road, but just took the long way around instead. This photo is one of surprisingly few from that weekend - since we are both photo-obsessed much of the time - and it always makes me laugh when I see it. Miss you Hols ! xoxo

Dan took this photo during our Killareny camping trip in September. I want to go back, but maybe minus the bears running around the campgrounds. Maybe.

Background

This photo is from a few weeks ago, taken at Bronte Creek. I love it a lot, and it is currently my desktop background on my laptop. Trust me, it takes a special kind of photo to make it onto my desktop !!

Birks

As it gets chillier and chillier, I am going to have to switch from my array of birks to warmer footware. This makes me sad. I wish the Birkenstock made a line of winter boots so I could just wear my Birks all year round : ) I am a dreamer, obviously !

Brrr, It's Cold !

Ok, I have tried uploading this file a few times, and it always turns my photo sideways and I do not know what. I give up.

I realize that it's far from THIS COLD, but the temperature has dropped lately and it is hitting below zero which mean snow could be just around the corner - which is both exciting and scary. I love winter for snowshoeing and playing and building forts and pretty walks, but I dislike winter driving quite a bit. But you have to take the good with the bad, right ?

Happy Hallowe'en

Yesterday I helped Luanne (and her boys) carve four very unique pumpkins.

I actually cannot remember the last time I carved pumpkins, and boy did we have fun !!

They are not the fanciest pumpkins by any means, but they're not half bad. My "dog" may look like a bunny, and sure one jack-o-lantern may have yarn hair and a stash - but we are pretty happy with them !!! Thanks for the fun time Lu !! xo

Lazy Day

Pretty pretty pretty !!! Dan took this photos in Vancouver two summers ago when he was there. Took it because he thought I would like it .... and I sure do : )

So not only did I use a photo someone else took, I am posting hours later than normal b/c I slept in today for the first time in ages !! I am going to be a lazy bum for a few hours, and then go do fun things today !! Yay day off !!

Two Peas ...

Jesse and I are like two peas in a pod ... sometimes. Most of the time though we are two peas from pods in different fields from each other, LOL !! But we're siblings, and therefore scarily similar at times ... as is proven in the photo above. Love you Jes !! xo

Always Laughing

My family is always laughing. Even when things are tough, sad, hard, upsetting ... we laugh. I love that about us. It keeps spirits up and shows how much we all love each other.

This photo is from Mother's Day a few years back, outside our traditional brunch location, The Water St. Cooker. I have loved this photo since the moment it was taken ... I even have it scrapbooked and framed in my room !!

Join The Club

To be honest, I didn't even read the framed sign about the Wine Club ... That being said, I do love how this photo turned out !!

This is a busy, busy week at work, so I appologize in advance if I miss any days and/or if most of my photos for the week are from the wine tour on Sunday ... I will be more creative again next week, promise !!

My Uncle Paul

This photo is old. Like first digital camera old. Paul might know what year it's from, since he's the one running the race. But it is still one of my favourite photos  for many reasons. It also appears to be a favourite of Paul's, as I noticed it up in their house when I was there this past weekend. I love that photos I take of my friends and family creep into their homes and get shown off - it makes me feel a little bit famous, even though I know I am not. Thanks to Paul for all this support and encouragement with my photography over the years !!!

Pillitteri Tour

Yesterday I went on a wine tour & tasting at Pillitteri Estates Winery in Niagara on the Lake with my Aunt Deb, Uncle Paul, and many of their friends. We had a lovely day, the sun came out while we were there, we tasted, we laughed, we enjoyed the limo ride. It was truly a great day.

SplitsVille

 Last night, I had the pleasure of spending the evening with three of my best girl friends: Candice, Christina, & Noelyn. We had dinner and went bowling ... my god - we are all terrible bowlers !! But that didn't discourage us from having a wonderful evening full of laughs and stories and chatter. It was such a great way to wrap up a busy week. We are all so busy with work and friends and family and life, that we don't get to see each other as often as I am sure we would all like to ... Luckily we make the most of our time together !

Bear Dance

When friends move far away, it can be hard to stay in touch. This does not mean you don't still love them the same, and think about them all the time. This photo is a shout out to Juny - miss you lots, hope all is well. xo

Way back when ...

Above you see me, many years ago, with my dad's bird Sally sitting on my head. She loved to sit on my head, and only my head any time she was let out of the cage to fly around. So often times, you found me sitting around as you see below ... as a preventative measure. It makes me laugh now, but when I was a kid, I hated having that bird on my head. Why did she like me so much anyway ???



Is it Friday yet ?

I get to hang out with these lovely ladies this Friday night and I can hardly wait !! It's been too long - again - since we've gotten together. This time around, we are going bowling - which should be highly entertaining. Looking forward to our adventures ladies !! xo

Oinkers

Dan & I saw these cute not-so-little piggies at Bronte Creek on Sunday morning. They were just coming out of the barn, and this first gal came right up to the fence to say good morning to us !! They are pretty cute & highly entertaining.

Brunch !!

Most of our family was able to gather today to have a great brunch at The Water Street Cooker, and visit while my mom's in town. Traditionally we go here on Mother's Day, and we all thoroughly enjoy the buffet brunch including delicious waffles (see below) and a huge assortment of seafood, hot food, desserts, custom omlets, and much more !!
